Romeo y Julieta Humidor

Romeo y Julieta was founded in 1875. This world famous brand was developed by Rodriguez Fernandez into a specialist company providing quality cigars to the connoisseur.

This exclusive piece was designed and made for Harrods of Knightsbridge by Martin Lane. He was awarded a Guild Mark for this piece by the Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers. The Guild Mark can be viewed by clicking here. This piece was also awarded the Claxton-Stevens prize in 2005.

The exerior of the humidor has centres of rippled sycamore with coloured bandings and ebony inlay which continue all the way to the four banded feet on the base. The top has a bevel-edged glass panel with an acid-etched and sand-blasted Romeo y Julieta logo. Below this is a drawer with various accessories, ashtrays, lighters and two suede-lined areas for a cutter and a lighter. This drawer is accessed via a pivot-hinged front door which reveals a hand-engraved solid silver and ebony ring guage.

There are eight dovetailed drawers with solid rippled sycamore fronts. In the centre of each drawer is a bevelled glass panel in which a cigar leaf has been engraved by hand using the brilliant wheel cut method. The interior of the drawers are of Belize cedar with slatted bottoms and moveable partitions.

The bottom two drawers contain the humitecs and digital hygrometers. All the fittings are silver and the timber has a clear satin matt lacquered finish.

Capacity: 450 Churchill cigars (approx) or 600 various Romeo y Julieta cigars (approx)
